Become  A Turkish Citizen

Turkey is among the countries that receive the most immigration in recent years. There are many
reasons why foreigners prefer Turkey. Foreigners to stay in Turkey longer than their visa period must
apply for a residence permit. Similarly, those whose residence permit has expired must apply for a
residence permit extension.

There are very important points that the applicant should pay attention to during the residence permit
application process. First, the residence permit application form must be filled. Then, the appointment
date is determined for the submission of the documents required for the residence permit application.
Residence permit application documents must be fully completed and prepared. The applicant must be
at The Presidency of Migration Management on the appointment day.

Due to the numerous applications recently, the The Presidency of Migration Management carefully
examines the residence permit applications and rejects the application if there is any deficiency, if the
deficiency is not remedied. Therefore, carrying out the residence permit application process through a
lawyer prevents the person from losing their rights.

Inadmissibility and Deportability

The government has the burden of proving that a person is subject to removal from the Turkey.
Immigration law includes numerous grounds for both inadmissibility, meaning that a person should
not have been admitted to the country, and deportability, meaning that the person should lose the legal
right to be here.
Most grounds for inadmissibility involve factors that would lead to denial of an application for a visa,
such as certain types of criminal convictions, medical exclusions, and concerns related to national
security. A person is also deemed inadmissible if he or she is present in the country “without
admission or parole,” which often means that he or she entered the country without a visa or other
official permission, or came in with a visa that has since expired.
A person who is considered inadmissible is also deportable, but the category of “deportable”
individuals is much broader than that. A person who has legal status in Turkey, for example having a
residence permit, may become deportable by violating a condition of his or her immigration status, or
if he or she is convicted of certain criminal offenses. A person who is considered inadmissible is also

deportable, but the category of “deportable” individuals is much broader than that. A person who has
